A tabletop role playing game about fighting back against the horrific monstrosities that plague the small fictional US town of Berkwood, Wyoming.
FACE YOUR FEARS
Greenlight County is a TTRPG horror in which you play as concerned civilians within the fictional US town of Berkwood, Wyoming, dealing with horrific and supernatural threats that thwart you using whatever tools and abilities you have as a regular person.
Within the TTRPG, it is stated that you do not play as heroes. You play as individuals with jobs to worry about, relationships to maintain. Most importantly, you play as people who get scared.
Fear and anxiety is a core mechanic of Greenlight County, with the game focusing on characters having to face their fears - or be overwhelmed by them, combating all manner of monsters that may reinforce pre-existing worries of a player character.

In Berkwood, no two anomalies are the same, and your characters will need to stay on their toes in order to survive.
Game masters are encouraged to get creative with the designs for the monsters that the player encounters, ranging in visual design to actual threat. Greenlight County is intended to be a flexible horror TTRPG, meaning that game masters can draw inspiration from whatever horror media they desire to. Whether you face anomalies, ghosts, evil cults, or a combination of all three - Berkwood is a playground for terror.
KEEP YOUR CHARACTERS ALIVE
Your characters will take on the role of neighborhood detectives, looking into strange happenings around Berkwood before following a trail of breadcrumbs to where they can hopefully banish whatever evil caused it.
People or pets can mysteriously vanish, odd screams can be heard in the abandoned mine at night, and the schoolchildren are talking about a tree within the forest that roams around on two legs.
Greenlight County is built to encourage players to take their time and prepare thoroughly before rushing into any kind of confrontation. Unlike other TTRPGs, real world factors have to be considered. In a fantasy world, a hero carrying a sword on their back wouldn't cause much public suspicion, but in Berkwood, lugging a shotgun through town is an easy way to get it confiscated.
Make notes on strange happenings, strange people, strange locations. Every detail could possibly save your characters life.
As said before, in Greenlight County, you play as regular people. Roles such as 'Fighter' or 'Rogue' are no more, and are replaced with the careers that your characters possess within the town. Journalists will search for a scoop, Local Pastors will seek to protect the people, and Laborers will just want to kick up their feet after a long days work.
On top of otherworldly horrors, your characters are more than just monster hunters. They are people with aspirations to fulfil and jobs to attend. However, this does not limit your characters usefulness in their attempts to combat the unknown.
Unfortunately, Berkwood is a dangerous place and your characters' safety is not guaranteed. Much like in horror movies, stupid decisions will get your characters killed, while the most resourceful individuals will end up surviving the longest.
Bring that baseball bat when investigating that strange noise, don't listen to the calls for help in the woods, and whatever you do, do not go into the cornfields past dark.
